MILO sponsors Cambodia's historic SEA Games Encouraging youth to grow and learn through sports

Phnom Penh: 5 May 2023:MILO, a leading nutritious chocolate malt beverage, today officially announced its sponsorship of the 32ndSEA Games, the first-ever SEA Games to be held in Cambodia, which is considered as one of the regions' most important sporting events.

The MILO sponsorship includes financial support and up to 20,000 MILO drinks for over 5,000 athletes from 11 countries across Southeast Asia, and thousands of audiences who will watch sporting competitions from all three main stadiums in the capital city of Phnom Penh from May 5 to 17, 2023.

Mr. Stephen Knight, Country Manager, Representative Office of Nestle (Thai) Ltd, said about the sponsorship at this historic sports event that"MILO has always believed in learning through sports, and this historic SEA Games is an ideal occasion that can portray the values each athlete learns from sports such as perseverance, tenacity, determination, leadership, and teamwork while competing at the highest levels, and is a prime example for all children in the country. These values that students learn via sports will allow them to face future challenges and achieve success in their future lives."

Additionally, MILO organized a nationwide roadshow called the “MILO School Roadshow”, visiting schools across the country with MILO vans to bring MILO drinks, which are packed with nutritional goodness and have a delicious chocolate malt taste that everyone loves, to thousands of students. This roadshow, which began earlier this year, has so far provided away up to 90,000 delicious MILO drinks to Cambodian students. Milo plans to continue offering free MILO drinks to schools nationwide until the end of 2023, with a goal of distributing over 250,000 MILO drinks to youngsters in Cambodia.

“We are honored to be a part of this historic SEA Games, and we are even more proud to be a part of an ongoing effort to provide good nutrition to Cambodia's future generations. Given that Cambodia has one of the youngest populations in Southeast Asia, with one-third of its citizen under the age of 15, it is crucial that these youngsters have proper nutrition and keep active in order to be a future force of the nation,” added Mr. Knight.

“The importance of proper nutrition combined with a consistent exercise inspired by sports will assist future generations to achieve a healthier Cambodia since a healthy population is one of the country's most valuable assets that adds value to society. This sponsorship and roadshow program can truly reflect Nestlé’s purpose of unlocking the power of food to enhance the quality of life for everyone, today and for generations to come,” concluded Mr. Knight.
